Surprise!! |

We pulled down to the crossing here at Mt Olive Rd, just north of Dorsey siding-the one place he didnt have a meet-and settled in, wanting to get the shot here with the creek high. Theres a crossing about a half mile to the south that you can usually hear them blowing for, but today for some reason, it didnt happen, and we got surprised. Still a decent shot. |

I dont know if the railroad did some clearing, or its just early enough in the season that the right of way isnt yet grown over, but it seems the trees are not encroaching on the shot as they did last year. The 4701 rolls north under the Ark 59 overpass. |

Not hearing any radio chatter, we went on up to Ginger Blue, planning to get the shot of the northbound here. When we got there, we found this southbound grain move sitting on the Elk River bridge. Couldnt have asked for a better spot. A pair of GEs(what else) leads over a rain swollen river. |

Another surprise |
Description: |
We went back to Noel, thinking wed get one more shot of the northbound, but he was playing with the power, and swe didnt stay, since it was now getting toward 1800, and dinner was calling. When we got down to Gravette, we came up beside this southbound grain move. He had not talked to the 4701 north when we were at Noel, and we werent able to see it through the trees, so we had no idea of its existence. We caught up at Decatur, here rolling past the stuffed and mounted F 7, a single unit leading 100 cars. There are DPUs, as well see shortly. |

Mails in!! |
Description: |
The newly found southbound grainer rolls past the bank of mailboxes at Floyd Moore Rd south of Decatur. Trains have a hard pull coming south out of Decatur, and its not much of a challenge to get one downtown, and then again here, or in Gentry. |

There we are!! |
Description: |
I knew a grain train wasnt going over the Heavener Sub with just a single unit, and I was right. Consecutively numbered SD 70ACes are spliced in 50 cars deep in the 100 car train. There will be one more unit on the rear, too. |

So does making the lights. I made the light at Ark 12 in Gentry, and took off, getting the train here at Davidson Rd. |

A little more hustle. |
Description: |
I took off as soon as I got the shot at Davidson Rd, able to get to Tahlequah St and the signals at the North Siloam Springs. The train splits the boards. |

The rear DPU rolls away toward downtown and Watts, passing one of the several water towers here in town. Time to head home for dinner now that the seven train show is over. |
