Here is page 15 of a 30-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "Modern Locomotives And Cars: 1939." Depicted here is PRR engine #3908 and "Doodlebug" #4666. Engine #3908 is an ES-6 built by GM-EMC in June of 1937, rated at 600 horsepower, renumbered "5911," and renumbered "8511" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. And "Doodlebug" #4666 is a J.G. Brill Gas-Electric Model 660 built in 1933 and presently in excursion service with the Allentown & Auburn.

PRR 9405, ES-6, c. 1955
Description:
Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here are two Pennsylvania Railroad engines: #9405 and #5911. Both are ES-6 switchers built by GM-EMD and rated at 600 horsepower each. #9405 was constructed in September of 1950. #5911 was built as number "3908" in June of 1937, later renumbered "5911," and renumbered "8511" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger; it was one of the PRR's very first diesel purchases. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
