Album Info:The CW44AC is CSX's designation for GE's AC4400 locomotive. This was CSX's first foray into AC powered locos. With an extensive fleet of Dash 8's, CSX sampled a few pre-production Dash9's, then decided the CW44AC was the right loco for them. Later production models were more heavily balasted and had upgraded high adhesion capabilities and designated CW44AH's. In 2019, some units were being rebuilt (upgraded) and are renumbered in the 7000 series.
